About Us
Trek didn't begin in a boardroom. It began with two people, a rented garage, and a stubborn belief that footwear had lost its way — too disposable, too uncomfortable, too eager to follow trends instead of feet. What started as a shared frustration in 2009 became a vision: to make footwear worth keeping, and to build it the way things used to be built.
The Long Walk
It started on the road. Years of travel — cities, trails, airports, everything in between — taught our founder that most footwear is designed for a showroom, not a life. The comfortable pairs fell apart. The good-looking ones hurt by afternoon. Somewhere along the way, a simple conviction took hold: your feet carry you through everything, and what you put on them should be equal to the task. That idea became the whole reason Trek exists.
Back to the Bench
Fixing it meant starting over. We spent two years learning construction from the ground up — testing materials until they failed, reworking the fit, tuning the cushioning for hours on your feet instead of minutes in a store. We threw out anything that didn't earn its place. What survived was a small collection built on a single standard: comfortable from the first step, made properly, and made to last far longer than a season.
Every Day Is a Trek
We named it Trek because that's what every day really is — a series of steps, some short, some long, all of them yours. Today our footwear is designed in Portland and worn around the world, but the mission hasn't changed since that first walk home. Fewer things, made better. Comfort you stop thinking about. Pairs people keep for years and reach for every morning. Wherever the day takes you, we build for the whole distance.
